Question

Does anyone use a U.S. help desk anymore?

It's not that I don't appreciate the fact that these outsourced folks need jobs, and it's not that I can't understand them. Usually, they speak pretty clear English. It just bothers me, the sheer number of companies that are outsourcing all of this stuff...maybe it's our own fault for demanding such high pay for jobs that don't really require any skills but enunciation...

Yeah it's hit and miss.

Funny enough though, India is starting to outsource it's call centers to phillipines because filipino's have a more american style of english and most american's can't tell the difference between speaking with an American vs speaking with a Filipino.

i know a few filipino's and they don't sound american to me. most of them are former bar girls married to retired Marines, if that has anything to do with anything
